Facing the truth

After four years of cash-making
cash-making we felt the edge of success... at least I knew about my new multi-cash solo contract. Poor guys. Nevertheless, talks were everything the guys were interested in. I brought in the idea of shouting down business immediately because things were expected to change after summer. So the boys wanted their final show to happen. We named it the AbiTour 2001 because the number fit with the year 2001.

Btw, some years later our brothers of Real(Echt) called their tour also AbiTour - bastards.

Quiz and Lenz dreamed of having a concert in this legendary Karl Schiller super dome which you can see below. Seeing this, you can assume its pure magnificence.
So, preparings for the final concert mega show started in spring 2001 relative abruptly.
From now on we had to face the truth.

Fans, fans, fans

As I mentioned before it never was easy for us to get along with the German fans. During vacation times in Ahrensfelde several times we got interrupted while trying to shoot our first home video.

But in the end...unforgetable moments.

It's nice to be important ...

...but it's more important to be nice. What a sentence. I still have these words of buddy H.P. in my ears. Back in 1997, he came by to join us during vacations in Ahrensfelde, Germany (You can catch the HYPER-man on the picture, the man on the right).

BTW, at this time I noticed for the first time something is special about Lenz' attitude...

A German nightmare

As planning procedures for the first tour went forward it became clear very quickly that the location to enter the market would be Germany. I heard about their new Unfallkrankenhaus Berlin-Marzahn before - but what else? Nothing. But Toni, who actually was from Germany, took some time of explaining the whole situation over there to us. I for myself drew this colorful and happy picture in my mind, which became totaly disillusioned some weeks later.

In the first place I thought it would look like our base orlando (on the picture). But in the end it was like... - well, don't wanna hurt Toni;)
Maybe that was the reason we never went back there except for these BRAVO Super Shows, which made us even richer. So, with God's blessings, we made it later on over here.

The Fans

Sometimes, when we had the chance to keep Britney out of the studio, a couple of fans would join us for hours. We hung out with them and tried to show them the tricks Toni had shown us. They really liked that stuff - as you can see on the picture.

I can clearly remember back in May 1997, when we were planning our tour throughout Europe, how to get all this annoying fan topic sorted out. And all these different languages - I can tell you... it was really frustrating. On the other hand - how to promote a new elbo...elbo...album without gettin into contact with these folks, especially the Lichtensteins (is there a connection between them and Einstein??)

New methods by Toni

As time went by Toni was always crazy about trying new methods for becoming better and better. It was about reaching the next level of synchronisation. He was a real genius. Tough guy!

The studio was really great. We had some mickey mouse magazines and a walkman, just for relaxing times. I can tell you, working for the first album was sooooooo exciting. More about that to come...

The first step

I can tell you seeing this studio was incredible. This should be the place where to stay for the next time. WOW. Look at all this technical stuff.

We had a great time there.

The perfect moment

Our biggest show ever - live - unforgetable! Just in front of these masses - we were great!

I remember these times, 24/7 around the globe. So exciting. So real.

BTW, as we started to perform this day the playback let us down. In the end we bought a new cd-player - the show must go on!
